When producing electronic music, applying a static high-decay reverb to a synth lead or snare often clutters the mix and collides with the kick drum.
Here, we set up a dedicated Effect Track assigned to a Strymon BigSky (or Generic Reverb) with baseline CC values (Mix at 35%, Decay at 50%).

Step 1: The Static Reverb Problem
When producing electronic music, applying a static high-decay reverb to a synth lead or snare often clutters the mix and collides with the kick drum.
Here, we set up a dedicated **Effect Track** assigned to a **Strymon BigSky** (or Generic Reverb) with baseline CC values (Mix at 35%, Decay at 50%).
Step 2: Drawing the 4-on-the-Floor Mix Pump (CC 15)
To create an aggressive sidechained pump without an analog sidechain compressor, we automate **Reverb Mix** (CC 15).
On the downbeats (steps 0, 4, 8, 12 where the kick hits), we duck the Mix down to **0**. On the off-beats (steps 2, 6, 10, 14), we ramp the Mix up to **110**, creating an unmistakable rhythmic inhale effect.
Step 3: Decay Climax on Step 16 (CC 17)
Finally, we automate **Reverb Decay** (CC 17).
Keeping the decay tight (40) throughout the first 14 steps keeps the rhythm punchy, while spiking the decay to **127** on step 15-16 releases an explosive ambient wash right into the turnaround.
