Here, we sequence a quarter-note pulse on beats 1, 2, 3, and 4 (steps 1, 5, 9, and 13 on the sequencer grid) using a deep C2 bass note (row 12). Notice how stable and predictable it feels at equal velocity.

Here, we automate **Filter Cutoff (CC 74)**. By keeping the filter tight and dark (`value 40`) across beats 1 through 3, then surging the cutoff open across the doubled notes (`85` on step 13, ramping up to `120` on steps 15-16), the synth barks open right before slamming back into the low-end thump of beat 1.
