MicroBrute
The Arturia MicroBrute is a compact analog monophonic synthesizer featuring a Steiner-Parker multimode filter, multi-wave oscillator with unique shape modifiers (Ultrasaw, Metalizer, Pulse Width), a 64-step sequencer, and a Mod Matrix CV patch bay. NOTE: Voice parameters (such as filter cutoff, resonance, and oscillator levels) are controlled by physical potentiometers on the analog signal path and do not transmit or receive MIDI Continuous Controller (CC) messages. However, the MicroBrute receives Web MIDI note tracking, pitch bend, clock synchronization, and MCC sequencer pattern configuration.

To connect your Arturia MicroBrute to your web browser, connect your synth using a USB cable or a dedicated USB-to-MIDI interface.
Open the MIDI Settings panel above, set the Output Port to your connected MicroBrute device, and select the correct MIDI channel (default is channel 1). Once configured, you can trigger notes, play sequences and arpeggios, synchronize master MIDI clock, and document patch routing sheets directly in your browser.

The Arturia MicroBrute utilizes a discrete, hands-on analog signal path where timbre parameters (such as filter cutoff, resonance, oscillator waveform mixers, and envelope timings) are wired directly to physical potentiometers. Because there are no digital encoders or DAC-controlled VCAs on the parameter circuits, voice controls do not transmit or receive MIDI Continuous Controller (CC) values.
However, the MicroBrute integrates seamlessly with closeby.one for Web MIDI note sequencing, polyphonic/monophonic melody lines, arpeggios, and rock-solid MIDI clock synchronization.

MIDI Troubleshooting
🚨 Sequencer Sync & Clock Quirks
If the sequencer is not starting or runs at double-speed, connect to the MIDI Control Center (MCC) utility and check the 'Sync' parameter. Switch between Internal, USB, or MIDI depending on your master clock setup.
🚨 Interrupted Update (Unresponsive / Brick)
If a firmware update fails, hold down both the Octave Up and Octave Down buttons while turning on the power switch. This forces the synthesizer into Bootloader Mode, allowing you to re-flash the firmware through MCC.
