The ASM Hydrasynth is a digital wave-morphing synthesizer featuring 8 voices of polyphony, a flexible 3-oscillator wave-mutator synthesis engine, dual filters, a 32-slot modulation matrix, and polyphonic aftertouch.

💡 How to configure the ASM Hydrasynth MIDI Editorâ–ŧ

To control your ASM Hydrasynth from your web browser, connect your synth to your computer using a USB cable or a dedicated USB-to-MIDI interface.

Open the MIDI Settings panel above, set the Output Port to your connected Hydrasynth device, and select the correct MIDI channel (default is channel 1). Once configured, you can map the MIDI CC layout sliders, draw automated parameter curves, and edit patches in real-time without installing any software.

â„šī¸ How MIDI CC Sync Works

MIDI CC is a one-way push protocol. Synthesizers cannot be queried dynamically to read their current parameter values. To synchronize these sliders, select your synthesizer's MIDI Input Port above. When you physically tweak knobs on your synth, the slider positions will instantly update on-screen to match.

Firmware & Help Reference

Firmware Version Details

Latest Stable:2.2.0

Update requires the ASM Manager (v1.5.6) utility. Connect Hydrasynth via USB, open the Manager, and select 'Update Device' using the downloaded firmware package.

MIDI Troubleshooting

🚨 Firmware Flashing Connection Hangs

If the ASM update utility stops responding, start the unit in bootloader mode: with power turned off, press and hold the 'ARP ON' and 'ARP LATCH' buttons simultaneously while switching on the power button, then rerun ASM Manager.

🚨 MIDI NRPN Parameter Resolution

For high-precision 14-bit modulation sweeps, go to the SYSTEM page 4 menu on your Hydrasynth and toggle 'MIDI TX' / 'MIDI RX' options to 'NRPN' instead of standard 'CC' to transmit fine parameter changes.
