The Novation Summit is a flagship 16-voice bi-timbral polyphonic hybrid synthesizer. It combines the Oxford digital oscillators and analog state-variable filters of the Peak with a premium keybed, expanded front-panel controls, dual-part layouts, and stereo routing.

💡 How to configure the Novation Summit MIDI Editor▼

To control your Novation Summit from your web browser, connect your synth to your computer using a USB cable or a dedicated USB-to-MIDI interface.

Open the MIDI Settings panel above, set the Output Port to your connected Summit device, and select the correct MIDI channel (default is channel 1). Once configured, you can map the MIDI CC layout sliders, draw automated parameter curves, and edit patches in real-time without installing any software.

ℹ️ How MIDI CC Sync Works

MIDI CC is a one-way push protocol. Synthesizers cannot be queried dynamically to read their current parameter values. To synchronize these sliders, select your synthesizer's MIDI Input Port above. When you physically tweak knobs on your synth, the slider positions will instantly update on-screen to match.

MIDI Troubleshooting

🚨 Multi-Part MIDI Channel Discrepancies

The Summit is 2-part multitimbral (Part A and Part B). If only one part is playing in Layer or Split mode, press 'Multi', select 'MIDI Settings', and make sure Part A and Part B are set to separate MIDI channels matching your sequencer track outputs.

🚨 Knobs do not change parameters (Local Off)

If the physical controls are disabled but transmit MIDI outputs, Local Control is off. Press 'Global', go to the MIDI tab, and toggle 'Local Control' back to ON.
