💡 How to configure the Roland JX-08 MIDI Editor▼

To control your Roland JX-08 from your web browser, connect your synth to your computer using a USB cable or a dedicated USB-to-MIDI interface.

Open the MIDI Settings panel above, set the Output Port to your connected JX-08 device, and select the correct MIDI channel (default is channel 1). Once configured, you can map the MIDI CC layout sliders, draw automated parameter curves, and edit patches in real-time without installing any software.

ℹ️ How MIDI CC Sync Works

MIDI CC is a one-way push protocol. Synthesizers cannot be queried dynamically to read their current parameter values. To synchronize these sliders, select your synthesizer's MIDI Input Port above. When you physically tweak knobs on your synth, the slider positions will instantly update on-screen to match.

System program update v1.03. Mount the JX-08 over USB, drag the update file directly onto the mounted drive disk, and safely eject before restarting.

🚨 Check Current Firmware Version

With the USB cable disconnected, hold down the [1] step button while switching on the power. The screen will display the current system program version.

🚨 Independent Part A / Part B Sequencing

The JX-08 is bi-timbral. If you are sequencing Part A and Part B simultaneously, go to the Part settings and ensure they are assigned to separate MIDI channels to avoid overlapping note controls.
